With such diverse interests as tableware, cars, politics and agriculture, Mr. von Boch has both small and grand dreams – from participating in the Mille Miglia, a classic car rally, to promoting alternative energy sources and reducing CO2. As a man of endless energy, spirit, and action, he has already accomplished building a large solar park at his Linslerhof resort, and plans to someday build wind power plants.
The family aspect of Villeroy & Boch is important to Mr. von Boch, as it has provided the company with a high level of security based on mutual loyalty and support. The family also offers vital company values, such as stability and continuity, ensuring the survival of the company.
When asked who he regards as a role model, Mr. von Boch speaks of his trailblazing and well-rounded, great-great-grandfather, Eugen von Boch.
As Chairman of the Supervisory Board and after 45 years of commitment to the company, Mr. von Boch has made Villeroy & Boch the world leader of tableware. He has also contributed design inspiration – for French Garden and Audun – and trend detection and implementation. He says, “In the end, it all comes down to teamwork, and that’s something at which Villeroy & Boch is especially good.”
According to Mr. von Boch, Villeroy & Boch is “The company that has shaped the world of ceramics like no other for over 260 years, and will continue to do so in the future.” He believes that Villeroy & Boch stands for ceramics, exclusive design and top quality, and has great potential both in the global markets and in our European home market. Villeroy & Boch is definitely on the right track!
